Fall Color Tour

Fall Color Tour 08

October 4-5

(Mt Baker MG Car Club)

(See below for the MGCCNWC part of the trip)

. Travel on US 2 (Stevens Pass) and return over the North Cascade Highway. We have talked with Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop and made arrangements for one overnight stay, Saturday October 4.  After two years of efforts to secure a reasonable rate for club members, we have secured eight AAA Four Diamond Rooms in the Lodge with a Valley View for $100, plus tax; and 14 Lodge Mountain View AAA Four Diamond Rooms at $110, plus tax. Other rooms are available from $150 to $324 per night.

In order to secure the group rate, rooms must be reserved by August 15. Each member is responsible for making their own reservations at 1-800-572-0493 or 1-509-996-4724. ]Ask for the MG Club Rate for Saturday. October 4, 2008.

Additionally, while no Saturday night dinner is scheduled, there are several options:

• Dinner in Winthrop at a number of local eating establishments

• Dinner at the Lodge restaurant

• The Cowboy Camp Dinner: attendees will be transported to the original ranch below the Sun Mountain Lodge by horseback or by horse-drawn covered wagon. Dinner consists of barbeque steaks or chicken; country fried potatoes; cornbread or biscuits; baked beans; corn-on-the cob (if available); vegetables; salads; homemade desserts. Not only will you have a great dinner, you will feel like you have stepped back in time to the late 1880s. The cost is $40 per person

Can you visualize our members on horseback?? Additionally, the Sales Manager at Sun Mountain has provided suggestions for several road trips on Sunday prior to the return trip home over the North Cascade Highway.

Make your plans and commit early to Join us for the Fall Color Tour the first weekend in October.

We will meet on Saturday at Cascade Mall (where Tulip Rally gathers) at 9:00 AM. From there we will leave at 9:30 and travel over the North Cascades Highway to Winthrop (approximately 135 miles).

Because Sun Mountain is our destination, we want to arrive early enough to enjoy the amenities of the lodge, explore Winthrop, and relax before dinner.

Those who have made prior reservations for the Cowboy Camp Dinner will leave the lodge at 5:30 pm. To join the Cowboy Camp Dinner, specify this when you made your lodge reservations.
